On a beautiful Animal Kingdom afternoon, we made our way back to the Asia section for our lunch ADR at Yak and Yeti.  We were sat for lunch shortly after checking in (despite being a few minutes late) and had an amazing server Stacey.

Some lobby atmosphere

Stacey went through and reviewed the brand new menu items  with us and helped us make our drink and food decisions. He was just a hoot and overall one of my favorite servers I’ve had.  Be sure to ask for him if you choose to dine here.  I ordered a pink Himalayan (no, I’m not a Yak Attack fan!) and mom got white wine to start ourselves off.  Trying to pace ourselves, we decided to split the lettuce cups as an appetizer and then she went for the new dragon roll for her entree and I did the ahi tuna salad.

Pink Himalayan – a wonderfully refreshing cocktail!  Perfect for a warm Florida day!

White Wine

Lettuce Cups for Two – minced chicken breast, chopped vegetables, Saigon Hoison sauce, crisp lettuce cups

Dragon Roll for Two – spicy tuna, avocado, topped with Dynamite crab, tempura crunch, sweet soy glaze

Seared Tuna Salad – chilled, seared blackened ahi tuna, mixed greens, grape tomatoes, wonton crisps and ginger dressing

These new menu items should have happily found their home among some of the other Y&Y favorites since we dined there.  Have you been since the menu switch?  Dragon rolls are not my thing but mom really enjoyed it, seemed fresh and assembled well.   My tuna was delicious and the salad had a lot going on to keep me interested.  It was surprisingly hearty for a lunch salad.

We were too full for dessert but the new addition there sounded wonderful, pineapple upside down cake! We settled our tab, AP discount just for the entree (sushi roll technically an appetizer) but better than nothing of course! TiW is not accepted here, which is why we couldn’t use it. We always have GREAT meals at Y&Y, but with so many changes coming to Animal Kingdom this summer, I wonder if we’ll still have time to venture back.

Yak and Yeti also offers a Counter Service option next door, but if you have the time I highly recommend the Table Service option inside.  If you can’t get an ADR, there is also a full service bar where menu items are served which can be a great alternative as well.

Are you a Yak and Yeti fan?  Let me know your favorite dishes in the comments!
